SUMMER 2010 STRING QUARTET PROGRAM

Hosted at The Violin Shop, schedules will be built to suit each group. The coached sessions will be held at the shop and are the gem of the program.  

Our coaches are all high level professional musicians and teachers…. including freelancers, studio musicians and San Diego Symphony players.  It’s a fun, creative learning environment unique to San Diego. 

Established groups are welcome to participate. 

Call or email The Violin Shop now for more details and to schedule an audition. All auditions require a completed application. Placement is limited.

Once all auditions have been screened and groups decided on, each quartet will be scheduled for an organizational meeting.  

A recital of all participating groups will be held at the conclusion of the session. 

Program fee is $400.00 all-inclusive.

One of the great advantages of this program is that each group has a customized schedule.

At the time of your audition, I will have you fill out a calendar for June, July, August & early September with all times that you will NOT be available for rehearsal or coaching. Vacations, summer camps, summer school etc.

When all auditions are completed, I will decide on groups according first to comparable ability, then location and schedule compatibility.

I will then schedule each group for their first session.

 At this first session, I will meet with the students to sight-read and choose appropriate repertoire.

The parent should plan to be here for this first session in its entirety, with your schedule books.
Each parent will receive a copy of a calendar that I will prepare that shows available times for all members to plan their schedule. (I will compile this from the calendars that you give me at the audition).
